Complacent

COMPLACENT (adj.) Contented to a fault; self satisfied and unconcerned.

CONTENT (adj.) Desiring no more than what one has; Satisfied.

Overkill, Overshot, Overtake, Overwhelm
I stay still without shock being complacent is my hell.


Oh, If I could cry a masculine cry....
Releasing frustration on all things I've never tried.
Grabbing from my toes, all my woes
And pushing aspiration to the side.
Many nights I look back and start to ask myself "Why?"


Why?
Continue to ride the same roads
Pass the same signs, pay the same tolls?
Continue to pretend I have no self-control
As life dictates my stories in Italic and Bold?
Its like malice foretold, Out of a crystal bowl.
Strings on a puppet,
Just following the toilet paper roll....


Why?
Pretend to still love a spirit that has came and gone?
Write music notes to an impossible song?
Accept being right when your living wrong....
For so long?
Give yourself to a cause that could be left on the phone....or the Maury show.
Complicate your dream in between commercial scenes,
And justify your being, as you rub out your everyday jeans.
But you Know what complacent means.....right?
